Privacy Policy
Innovative Fuel Systems (“IFS”, “we”, “us”) is based in Edmonton, Alberta. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and — where it applies to information we handle across provincial or national borders — the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

1. Scope
This policy applies to personal information collected through this website and through related business enquiries, including fleet audit requests. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to.
2. Personal information we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to you and to operate this site:
- Contact and enquiry information you submit through our fleet audit form — such as your name, company, business email address, phone number, fleet size and the contents of your message.
- Technical and usage information automatically generated when you visit, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring page. This is used in aggregate to keep the site secure and to understand which content is useful.
Most of what we collect is business contact information. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not collect information from children.
3. Why we collect it
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- to respond to enquiries and prepare a fleet fuel assessment or proposal;
- to schedule and deliver installations, service and support;
- to send information about our products and services you have asked to receive;
- to maintain business records and meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations;
- to secure, maintain and improve this website.
4. Consent
By submitting a form or contacting us, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes described above. Where PIPA permits, we may also collect or use information without consent — for example to collect a debt, to comply with a legal requirement, or in an emergency threatening health or safety.
You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us using the details below. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain services. Commercial electronic messages we send include an unsubscribe mechanism as required by CASL.
5. Disclosure to others
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We may disclose it to:
- Service providers acting on our behalf — for example website hosting, email delivery, analytics and CRM providers — who are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us;
- Installation or service partners where necessary to fulfil a request you have made;
- Authorities or other parties where required or authorized by Alberta or Canadian law.
Some service providers may store or process information outside Alberta or Canada. In that case the information may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that jurisdiction. We use contractual and other reasonable measures to require comparable protection wherever information is processed.
6. Safeguards
We protect personal information with reasonable physical, organizational and technological safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity — including restricted access, encrypted transmission of web form data, and confidentiality expectations for personnel and suppliers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes it was collected for, or as required by law. Where information has been used to make a decision about an individual, PIPA requires us to keep it for at least one year afterward. When it is no longer needed, we securely destroy, erase or anonymize it.
8. Your access and correction rights
Under PIPA you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, information about how it has been used, and to whom it has been disclosed. You may also ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete. We respond within the time limits set by PIPA (generally 45 days) and will explain if an exception prevents us from providing all of the information requested. A reasonable fee may apply for access requests in some circumstances; we will provide an estimate first.
9. Cookies and analytics
This site uses only the cookies and similar technologies needed for it to function and to measure aggregate traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version takes effect when posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date above will change accordingly.
